D Magazine Meet the Pitmaster Event

An Unforgettable Night of Smoke, Stories, and Texas Barbecue

Monday, April 7, we had the honor of hosting a truly special evening here at Vaqueros in Allen. Put on by D Magazine, the event brought together four of the top pitmasters in Dallas—Vaqueros, Cattleack, Zavala’s, and Smokey Joe’s—for a night of storytelling, laughter, and, of course, incredible barbecue.

Guests enjoyed a generous buffet and drinks while hearing behind-the-scenes tales from the pit, trading questions with the masters themselves, and soaking in the spirit of Texas barbecue culture. It was an unforgettable night filled with smoky aromas, rich conversations, and a shared love for the craft that brings us all together.
